Last night, Superintendent Pearson met with the B-ESD Parent Advisory Committee. The feedback presented during these meetings will be used to help evaluate progress on the Strategic Plan and to inform district improvement planning moving forward. The committee is also a great resource for how district leadership can positively support student outcomes. #ParentsArePartners #WeAreBE

At last night's Board meeting, we recognized an exceptional leader and a dedicated servant to the Burlington-Edison School District. Jeff Haddox, our Assistant Director of Auxiliary Services, is retiring after a career that spanned over two decades, leaving behind an indelible mark on our school community. Yesterday, the team presented at a regional TechFest, representing B-E schools and highlighting the great work happening across our district. While much of their handiwork happens behind the scenes, our Technology team ensure that our district systems and tools are operating efficiently in support of student learning. #WeAreBE

Due to violations of the Burlington-Edison High School Athletic Code by multiple student athletes on the varsity football team, we are making the difficult decision to forfeit Saturday's game against Lynden High School. Decisions about the last two games of the season are pending the outcomes of the ongoing investigation. As the violations involve disciplinary action and individual students, we are unable to share additional details or more specific information. While co-curricular activities serve an important and valuable role in the educational experience for all students, the opportunity to participate in these activities is a privilege and participants are expected to conform to specific conduct standards established by the school. We look forward to learning from this experience and finishing the football season on a positive, engaging note.
